"Dear Sir or Madam" is the beginning of the end of every first approach. The difference between an ignored message and a replied message is almost always in the first sentence - and whether the message appears to come from a real person with a real concern or from a template.
The prompt should not generate a generic sales email, but a short, person-specific approach that targets a problem - not the product:
Write a short LinkedIn first message
(max. 4 sentences) to:
Role: [ROLE] | Company: [COMPANY] | Hanger: [HANGER]
Our offer solves this problem:
[PROBLEM IN ONE SENTENCE].
Rules: no pitch in the first sentence, no 'I hope you're doing well'
'I hope you are well', a concrete observation, a
low-threshold question at the end.
Tone: collegial, at eye level, no sales jargon.
One message is rarely enough. Instead of stubbornly repeating the same email, you can design a well thought-out sequence with different perspectives:
Here is my first message: [NACHRICHT]. It remained
+unanswered.
Design two follow-up messages for day 4 and day 10.
Each should bring a NEW perspective or added value
(e.g. an example, an industry observation) instead of
just a reminder. Maximum 3 sentences per message.
Politely leave the door open on the last one.
Conclusion: Personalization is not a phrase with an inserted first name, but a relevant observation plus a clear next step. AI helps to formulate this in seconds - but the relevance must come from real research. This completes the upper funnel; week 4 is dedicated to the interview and follow-up.
