Challenge
The mid-sized company "HSP Industries," located in Bavaria, represents many organizations in Germany: Over the past three years, sick leave due to psychological stress has steadily increased, primarily caused by burnout, exhaustion, and chronic stress. With around 280 employees, the company saw a 41 percent rise in stress-related illnesses since 2021. Leadership noticed decreasing employee engagement, increased team conflicts, and widespread demotivation. Traditional risk assessments failed to provide timely or individualized insights. It became clear a smarter, tech-based approach was needed.
Action
HSP Industries initiated the development of an AI-powered occupational safety agent capable of real-time psychological risk assessments. An interdisciplinary team of psychologists, data scientists, and safety officers built a system that analyzed employee feedback, calendar data, workload patterns, and anonymized internal chats.
The platform Bloola was integrated to coordinate workflows, communication, and feedback. The AI agent operated inside Bloola, offering managers automated alerts on potential stress overloads. Additional initiatives included mindfulness training, individual coaching, and scheduled "Well-being Moments" embedded in the team calendar.
Result
After just six months, significant improvements were visible: Sick leave dropped by 28 percent overall. The department with the highest stress rate saw a 39 percent reduction in absenteeism. Internal surveys showed 92 percent of employees felt more psychologically secure. The integration of Bloola and the AI agent led to meaningful changes in team structure and communication habits.
Additionally, HSP Industries strengthened its employer brand significantly. Applications rose by 24 percent the following year, especially from candidates actively seeking psychologically safe workplaces. Financially, the impact was clear: savings of approximately 1.3 million euros were recorded through reduced sick leave and increased productivity.

Scaling the System Forward
HSP Industries plans to enhance the AI safety agent with resilience forecasting and personalized coaching suggestions. Mobile integration and expansion to production teams are underway. Together with Bloola, a sector-specific dashboard is being developed to visualize and address psychological strain early.
The company aims to become one of the top references for healthy workplace culture in the DACH region within the next two years.
